International students are non-Canadian residents who require a student visa to study in Canada. The Institute receives a significant number of international student applications every year.
Since the administrative processes for international applicants take significant time, we require that international applicants complete their application (including submission of the required letters of reference) at least 6 months before the start of the term. Please check specific application deadlines in the online application section.
Proficiency in English
Proficiency in English is necessary to pursue graduate studies at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. All applicants whose first language is not English must satisfy the language requirements specified in the links below.
